Feature: A. Lange & Söhne launches three new models at Watches & Wonders 2025
A. Lange & Söhne has released three models at this year’s Watches & Wonders, including a spectacular new timepiece that combines two of watchmaking’s most revered complications: a minute repeater and perpetual calendar. Read on to discover what the revered German brand unveiled at the Geneva event this year.
Minute Repeater Perpetual, reference 607.091FE
A.Lange & Söhne is no stranger to the minute repeater, having previously released several models boasting this function. Here, for the first time since the brand’s 2013 Grande Complication—of which six pieces were made—it combines a minute repeater with a perpetual calendar in the platinum-cased reference 607.091FE.
Limited to 50 pieces, this is set to be one of the most sought-after Lange models of recent years, and that’s not just because of its technical brilliance. There’s also the matter of its wonderfully balanced black enamel-on-white-gold dial, which bears three dual-purpose subdials.
At 3 o’clock is the month and leap year indicator. At 6 o’clock is the small seconds and moonphase (complete with over a hundred tiny hand-engraved stars). And at 9 o’clock is the day and 24-hour indicator. Lange’s signature oversized date window sits beneath 12 o’clock, while the slender white-gold Roman numerals enhance the brand's distinctive aesthetic. The case size is a versatile 40.5mm.
To combine two of watchmaking’s most sophisticated horological complications is a huge undertaking that entailed developing a new manual-wind movement, the L122.2. And this exquisitely finished masterpiece is displayed through the caseback, complete with Lange’s signature hand-engraved balance cock, each one of these tiny components as unique as a fingerprint.
Odysseus Honeygold, reference 363.150
Since the sporty Odysseus was first launched in 2020, it has proved a hit with admirers of the brand who have welcomed the three iterations in steel, white gold, or titanium. Finally, we’re blessed with a version in the brand’s patented HONEYGOLD®, admired for its warm hue, that sits midway between pink and white gold.
Equally warm in tone is the brown dial, which carries the same decorative elements as previous models, most notably the concentric sunburst pattern that’s echoed on the small-seconds subdial. Lange’s hallmark outsized day and date windows sit at 9 and 3 o’clock respectively and these functions can be changed or set by two cleverly concealed pushers integrated into the shoulder of the crown.
This Odysseus comes on a five-row bracelet made of the same Honeygold as the case and, as with previous Odysseus models, runs on a manufacture calibre L155.1 DATOMATIC®, self-winding movement. This will be limited to 100 pieces.
1815, reference 20.028 and 20.037
First introduced to the line-up in 1995, the 1815 refers to the birth year of the company’s founder, Ferdinand Adolf Lange, and is a direct descendant of the brand’s early pocket watches.
A simple time-only dress watch in precious metal, the 1815 has so far been through three generations which have differed only in case size and movement—all of which have been manually wound.
These two latest references in either white or pink gold feature a deep blue dial and a case size of 34mm, making it the smallest 1815 yet.
A new movement, the Calibre L152.1, was developed especially for this watch and increases the power reserve to 72 hours, significantly longer than the 55 hours in the previous generation of 1815, which ran on the Calibre L051.1.
The exhibition caseback means you can admire the movement’s three-quarter plate of German silver embellished with Glashütte ribbing, as well as the customary hand-engraved balance cock.
Both versions are limited to 750 pieces.
